Desi Wilkinson is a talented musician known for his exceptional skills as traditional Irish flute player. Born and raised in Belfast, Ireland, Desi has been playing the flute from a young age. His passion and dedication to his craft have led him to perform on various stages around the world. Desi has also worked as a full-time lecturer and researcher. He has produced many recordings and publications during the course of his career and continues to be active in both teaching and performance.
Desi Wilkinson will be presenting three engaging lectures on various aspects of Irish music and history, delivered in both English and French. The festival also features a special concert with renowned Irish musicians Ronan Browne and Catherine McHugh, in collaboration with 'Les musiciens du Vent du Nord'. A rich cultural exchange celebrating Celtic traditions through music, storytelling, and scholarship.
